Breaking Bad, Season 1

Breaking Bad premiered on January 20, 2009 and the finale aired on March 9, 2009. It was a seven episode season, due to the Writers Guild of America strike in the 2007-2008 season.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television and aired in both the US and Canada, it was on the AMC network.

The show stars Bryan Cranston as the main character, Walter White. He is a struggling chemistry high school teacher, as well as a terminal lung cancer diagnosed patient. Worse, his wife is pregnant, his family has issues, and he doesn’t have a sufficient heritage to pass down to support his family after he dies.

Since life is so down and out, he decides to start producing and selling methamphetamine with an old friend of his, Jesse Pinkman (played by Aaron Paul).

The very first episode is memorable: he finds out that he is sick with terminal lung cancer, so he is going to die. So he approaches his friend Jesse and proposed going into the meth business.

The show has earned four Emmy Awards for the writing and acting by Cranston.
